“Drunk” grilled asparagus: a recipe for a dish that is hard to refuse to cook

Such a combination of products you did not expect to see, but it can surprise you

Few people have ever heard of a recipe called Drunken Grilled Asparagus. However, this dish does exist and it can surprise you. This is exactly what you should do, for example, if you happen to have unfinished wine and asparagus, writes All Recipes.

How to make drunken roasted asparagus

For this we will need the following ingredients – 1 cup of wine, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of prepared brown mustard, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, ½ teaspoon of ground black pepper, ½ teaspoon of salt, 900-1000 grams of fresh trimmed asparagus.

The dish starts by making a marinade of wine, olive oil, mustard, garlic powder, black pepper and salt. The sliced asparagus should then be placed in a bowl and covered with the marinade.

Stir the asparagus with the marinade, cover and place in the fridge for two hours. When the time has passed, you need to heat up the grill. As soon as it is hot enough, take the asparagus out of the marinade and grill over high heat until the grill marks appear and the asparagus is soft – this will take about 10 minutes.

The author of the material reports that he made a few changes to the original recipe. Instead of making the marinade in a bowl, all the ingredients can be whisked together directly in a baking mould, where all the asparagus would fit.

After two hours, the author took the asparagus out, drained the marinade (but didn’t throw it away) and preheated the grill. She started with high heat, but as soon as she put the asparagus out, she turned the heat down to medium so as not to overcook it. After just a few minutes, the asparagus was perfect – soft but with a slight crunch.

So she immediately transferred it to a plate, drizzled the remaining marinade on top and served.
