This dish has every chance of becoming a favourite on your holiday table
Bacon-wrapped mushrooms are an exquisite appetiser for a festive table and a delicious dish to make for dinner with family or friends. This recipe combines the delicate creamy flavour with the brackish spiciness of bacon to create a real culinary creation. The recipe shown on the Liliya.cooking page conquers the combination of textures in the dish: crispy bacon, tender filling and juicy mushrooms and the good thing is that it does not require excessive effort or complicated ingredients.
Recipe
Ingredients:
- Mushrooms (large) 10 pcs.
- Cream cheese 100 g
- Hard cheese 50 g
- Onion 1 pc.
- Bacon 100 g
- BBQ sauce
Preparation:
- First, rinse the mushrooms thoroughly under running water, clean the caps from dirt and remove the stems, but do not throw them away.
- Chop the mushroom stems together with the onion.
- Heat a frying pan, add a little vegetable oil and fry the mixture over a medium heat for 5-10 minutes until golden.
- Once cooled, add the cream cheese and grated cheese. Mix well to form a homogeneous mixture.
- Fill each cap with the filling. Try to make sure that the filling protrudes a little from the top, because after baking it will get a nice golden crust.
- Wrap each stuffed mushroom in a thin piece of bacon. If the bacon doesn’t hold well, you can secure it with a toothpick.
- Brush the bacon-wrapped mushrooms with barbecue sauce to add flavour and a slight sweet smoky taste.
- Place the mushrooms on a baking tray lined with parchment or greased with a little oil.
- Serve the mushrooms hot, sprinkled with fresh herbs on top. They go well with white garlic sauce or savoury cottage cheese dip.
Tips:
- Shredded chicken, nuts, chopped herbs or even sundried tomato pieces can be added to the cheese filling.
- If you don’t have barbecue sauce, you can replace it with tomato sauce with your favourite spices.
